Art: Megan Frauenhoffer

ARTIST STATEMENT:"Megan Frauenhoffer is a recent graduate of the MFA program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Working primarily with printmaking and drawing techniques, her imagery explores the unconscious self by way of sleeping beauties and monsters. Within these ethereal dreamscapes are playful references to Red Riding Hood, Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty. These fairytales weave interchangeably offsetting a looming darkness and suppressed anxiety. In the end, the body of work becomes a ghost story and a regretful haunting of loss."
