ARTIST STATEMENT: "I create images of people and objects exactly as they appear to me, at first. I make alterations to or omit certain elements that sharply define identity, replacing them with symbols that suggest participation in a greater sense of identification. Showing only parts of images and integrating them with other discrete parts to form a complete, believable picture represents our way of constructing reality from only the parts of the world we've seen."
