Ana Galvañ

Ana Galvañ

La vida es buena si no te rindes:

“It’s a good life if you don’t weaken."

Be still my heart—because it's racing for Ana Galvañ

This magical Madrid-based artist/illustrator/comic swirls together her love for horror, science fiction, and action-genre literature and films. Her work reflects and layers together these many obsessions. Galvañ majored in graphic design and originally worked at a big advertising agency. But her love of illustration prevailed and she eventually left to become a freelance illustrator. Spunky neon colors and bold characters, her work truly stands out on its own!

Galvañ utilizes customized pencils and brushes on a digital canvas. Her process blends original techniques of sketching, mixing inks and colors, and creating various textures. To finish them, she uses techniques such as risograph, screen, and giclée to print. She currently uses Clip Studio Paint.

Below are two more of her comics!

Her thoughts on ghosts:

"Ghosts are all in the mind. However, they can be equally—if not more—terrifying."

And aliens:

"There must be aliens somewhere."

Galvañ is originally from Murcia, a town from southern Spain, surrounded by beautiful deserts, mountains, and the Mediterranean Sea. She currently lives in Madrid, sharing a drawing studio with her fellow illustrator and comic friends.

Galvañ starts the day by heading to the studio with her friends. She then heads to the gym to practice martial arts and combat sports, or checks out events for comics and fanzines. Sleep can be hard, sometimes due to anxiety, and sometimes due to the two dogs barking next door.

Galvañ's recent accomplishments include contributing to the recent Hoodoo Voodoo anthology (Fosfatina publishers, 2016) and #28 Scandal! ( Kuš!, 2017). Sharing her work with these great authors has been an honor.
