Portrait after portrait—this page could go on forever. Dominic Beyeler's prolific style can be seen in his daily sketches. Balancing bold colors and swift lines, Beyeler captures a fierce vulnerability within every face. Residing in Switzerland, Beyeler remembers the first time he earned money for his artwork, which secured his interest in being a professional artist: the splatter, the ink, our hearts.
Beyeler is loyally consistent with his Tumblr. Below are three of his daily sketchbook posts.
A true night owl, Beyeler works late into the evening on his artwork.
Beyeler is a huge science fiction fan. He especially enjoys the work of H. R. Giger and Ridley Scott's Alien. Through his daily work and experiences, Beyeler likes to experiment with new styles and materials.
Art fueled by potatoes—at the age of 11, Beyeler took a job filling 3-kilo bags with potatoes in his grandmother's vegetable garden. He used the money he earned to fund his art interests, and purchased himself an airbrush gun. Another reason to love starchy comfort food!
Such a world of drippy, scribbled love. Beyeler's first commissioned piece came at the young age of 14. He was asked to detail a car with a dolphin jumpingin front of a sunset.
