Born and living in Ithaca, New York, Camille Chew enjoys elements of mythology, the occult, fantasy, and fashion. Chew blends the ancients with a bold street style for each of her characters. She experiments with mixed media, printing, and illustration. Fashionably dressed witches and glowing elements of the occult—this Alfred University grad is making a name for herself. With distinct color palettes and the use of patterns, each of Chew's pieces are so striking and detailed.

Wonderous witches! Chew recently illustrated her first book! We couldn't be prouder to feature samples of her work below. She's been deep-diving into digital illustration through Photoshop.

"I recently illustrated my first book, Basic Witches by Jaya Saxena and Jess Zimmerman, published by Quirk Books. It was a dream project to work on; I got to draw a bunch of wonderful witchy ladies, and I'm super proud of how the book turned out."

Chew created these mixed-media masks in conjunction with her witch prints.

The creative forces of our hands!

Check out these gorgeous gum transfer and acrylic prints. Doodle-filled and powerful, each burns with an energizing spirit.

Do you believe in ghosts?

It's a cool and spooky idea, but no. I don't believe in any sort of afterlife.

Do you believe in aliens?

Somewhere out there, yes.

Growing up, Chew was always interested in fairy-tales, fantasies, and myths. She loves to explore Greek, Hindu, and pre-Columbian myths.

Chew spends her days drawing at her computer in her loft studio space, working on both client work and personal projects, such as these stunning lithograph moon prints below.

"There's a studio in the back of our house with a loft that I've taken over as my workspace. I have a big desk that can usually be found covered with the remnants of previous projects, and a skylight right above me. Any well-lit, secluded room where I can sing along to some music while I work is the best environment for me to be productive."

Chew often works late into the evening, and then will watch a show or two before going to bed.
