Martín Elfman

Martín Elfman

Martín Elfman is a spanish-argentinian illustrator and traveller. He has lived in Israel, Barcelona, Lisbon, Venice, and Naples. Since 2006, Martín has been a contributor to newspapers El Pais and El Periódico de Catalunya and to Letras Libres, Etiqueta Negra, and El Malpensante magazines.

There's just something about simple lines and anything-but-simple ideas that Martín does oh so well.

Selections from a book about 21 human rights activists written by 21 Latin American journalists.

Illustrations from a series called "Bolivian Women in Motion."

"The task of a good illustration is to dialogue with the text and look for new and surprising ways of showing the hidden concepts under its words. I love using geometric shapes and very few colors in my compositions, so that nothing distracts from the main idea."

We may not be distracted from the main idea, but we are definitely drawn into his world.

Clean and complex.
